Three things we are called for

It has stopped

No cooling in August, no heat on the first cold morning. We diagnose, price the repair and carry the parts that fail most often.

It works, but badly

A room that never keeps up, humidity that never drops, a system that runs all day. Usually airflow, ducts or controls — all measurable.

It is time to replace it

Sized from the building rather than the old label, with the ductwork checked before anything new is bolted to it.

Thermostat setbacks

How far back should you really turn it?

Setting the thermostat back while the house is empty saves money — up to a point, and the point is different for a gas furnace, a heat pump and a summer afternoon in North Texas.

Tell the planner what you have and how long the building is empty, and it gives you a sensible setback, the recovery time to expect, and the cases where a deep setback costs more than it saves.

Questions

Answers before you ring

How far should I set the thermostat back?

It depends on the equipment. A gas furnace recovers cheaply, so a deeper setback saves more; a heat pump with electric backup does not, and a deep setback can cost more than it saves. Our setback planner works it through.

Do you work on heat pumps?

Yes, including dual-fuel systems. They behave differently from a furnace in both cold weather and in how they should be controlled, and we set them up accordingly.

Do you serve businesses as well as houses?

Yes — rooftop and split systems, planned maintenance and fit-out work for offices, shops, clinics and light industrial units.

Will the price be agreed before you start?

Yes. Repairs are priced in writing after the diagnosis; larger work is proposed on paper before anything is ordered.

One room never keeps up. Is the system too small?

Usually not. It is more often a duct, a register or a return that cannot move the air. We measure the room before anyone talks about equipment.
